Titanised mesh implants: globally unique

Our core business in the surgical implants business division is artificial mesh. Mesh implants are used in a range of medical fields, particularly in surgery, gynaecology and urology. They are developed and produced by our subsidiary pfm medical titanium.

In the production of these meshes, our experts make use of an innovative, patented finishing process. In this process, a titanium coating only a few nanometres thick is covalently bonded to the plastic of the implants. Titanisation offers numerous advantages compared with conventional methods:

  • The body accepts the mesh extremely well. The outstanding biocompatibility of titanised implants is globally unique.
  • The implant can be optimally placed within the tissue and is incorporated into the body.
  • State-of-the-art manufacturing technology allows us to produce our mesh configurations in ultra-light versions (16 g/m2).

Treatment of choice with titanium

Doctors and patients both benefit from our development. Surgeons appreciate the plasticity of implants which can be optimally fitted to the tissue. Patients do not perceive the mesh implants as foreign bodies, report less pain and are mobile again within a short time after surgery.

For hernia surgery, we offer titanised mesh implants branded as TiMESH® and TiLENE®, while TiLOOP® is designed for urology, gynaecology and senology.

Our exclusive service for you: at your request, we also develop and produce individual mesh implants to be used in other areas of application. Please get in touch with us!
