pfm Forceps EWF 600 - The first wireless electronic forceps for the histologic lab is now available
Cologne, 22 January 2020 - At the end of January, pfm medical ag will be adding 3 new products to its histotechnology product portfolio: The manual microtome pfm Rotary 3000 Compact, the pfm Cooling Plate TES 5010 and the wireless heated pfm Forceps EWF 600. The products will be presented for the first time in Germany at the 22nd Bamberg Morphology Days, 24-26th January 2020.
The pfm Forceps EWF 600 are a new addition to the pfm medical ag portfolio: for the first time, a wireless electronic forceps is available for the transfer and alignment of tissue samples during embedding in the histologic laboratories. The innovative concept and design of this product enables the temperature of the forceps tip to be monitored and controlled wirelessly, enabling paraffin blocks to be produced easily and accurately. The pfm Forceps EWF 600 consists of a base station and two wireless forceps with interchangeable tips. A total of five different versions of interchangeable tips are available. The tips are gold-plated for improved thermal conductivity. The forceps are placed in the base station for charging. The temperature data is transmitted wirelessly and controlled and permanently monitored via the touch screen. The forceps also have an integrated white light to illuminate the working area for better recognition of smaller samples. This new technology makes the forceps particularly convenient and efficient in use.
The two other new products, the manual rotary microtome and the cooling plate, which complement pfm medical's portfolio in the field of histotechnology, also make it possible to work comfortably and efficiently in the laboratory environment. The new pfm Rotary 3000 Compact is a high-performing, compact, newly designed manual rotary microtome suitable for all applications in routine use, research and industrial. The stable object and knife/blade holder system, in combination with the horizontal and vertical cross-roller bearing system, ensures the highest possible stability. This unique technology allows reliable and consistently high cutting quality. The pfm Cooling Plate TES 5010 enables fast and easy cooling of paraffin blocks during tissue processing and sectioning. The temperature, which is set via the user-friendly touch screen, is monitored permanently and electronically. This enables a consistent temperature of the cooling surface.
