NeoBreathe is 100% pfmmedical.
From concept to application, the new CPAP valve was developed entirely in-house - with the aim of providing even better and gentler care for premature babies and newborns.
For Dr. Bianca Haase (Head Paediatrician, Reutlingen District Hospital), who helped develop NeoBreathe, the focus was on one thing: intuitive use and the least possible stress for the smallest patients. Her experience in nursing and clinical practice has had a decisive influence on the product.
Martina Altay from our team emphasizes that, thanks to our in-house production, we can respond directly to market requirements and implement adaptations quickly.

At the congress, we had a real exchange with the specialist community - with those who use NeoBreathe.
We were particularly pleased with the openness, the honest feedback and the great interest in a solution that not only combines safety, simplicity and effectiveness, but is also needed in resource-poor countries such as Eritrea - where simple and affordable products are crucial.
We took a lot away from the discussions. After all, real innovation is not created in a laboratory or at a desk, but in dialog with those who use it.
The positive first impression that many people had of NeoBreathe was an absolute highlight for us.

Product Information
NeoBreathe is a non-invasive respiration valve intended for the initial care of prematures and neonates as part of Continuous Positive Airways Pressure therapy
(CPAP). The valve operates according to the Benveniste principle. When the NeoBreathe valve is applied, a Positive Endexpiratory Pressure (PEEP) is generated
in the lungs, ensuring there is continuous airflow into the lungs while the patient breathes spontaneously.
NeoBreathe has four holes in the centre – two opposite each other. This ensures that breathing air can always escape and that the valve cannot be accidentally closed by using one hand. This safety function prevents the child's lungs from being overstretched due to excessive pressure.

Methode
The PEEP is defined as the positive pressure in the lungs at the end of expiration. When setting a higher PEEP level, the pressure during expiration does not fall below the defined airway pressure. Therefore, breathing is supported by improving oxygenation through various mechanisms, such as preventing alveolar collapse and atelectasis (airway obstruction). By stabilising the alveoli, keeping the lungs open and increasing functional residual capacity can support the gas exchange surface. The representation of the PEEP settings as a function of gas flow are dependent on the neonate’s interface, which may vary. The values were determined in non-clinical tests with 1,000 g and 3,000 g premature weight simulations. N.B. these values are to be considered as reference values only.
